Congratulations
to our District Spelling Bee Champion, Lucas Ke, who won the North Jersey Spelling Bee on March 14, 2023 after a four-hour competition with some of the county’s best spellers! He was the best speller in the field of 55 Bergen County students. The winning word was "bariolage." Typically, the word is used by musicians to describe the special effect they achieve on a violin by rapidly alternating on open and stopped strings.
Lucas will move on to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C., to face top spellers from all over the country. The event will be held May 30 to June 1. We are so proud of him!
